Our Guiding Principles
In all of its lobbying and communications activities John Moonen & Associates, its employees and consultants strive to adhere to a number of guiding lobbying principles, including:
- It is the right of every company, organization and individual operating or residing in Canada to lobby federal, provincial and municipal decision-makers to secure legislative change, obtain government approvals, secure public funding and resolve their disputes with government.
- It is also their right to employ professional lobbyists and communicators to achieve their goals.

For our Clients
- Vigorously and diligently advocate for their requests to government.
- Not disclose privileged or proprietary information provided by a client without their consent.
- Not engage in any lobbying or communications activities that are detrimental to the reputation of our clients.
- Take no action that would place a client in a real or apparent conflict of interest.
For the Public Officials we Lobby
- Act in a manner that demonstrates respect for democratic institutions, elected officials, government employees and public decision-making.
- Disclose to officials the identity of the company, organization or individual on whose behalf we are lobbying.
- Take all steps necessary to ensure the accuracy of the information and arguments we make to public officials.
- Conduct all relations with public officials honestly and in full compliance with applicable laws.
For Ourselves
- Not engage in any lobbying or communications activities that are detrimental to the reputation of JMA, its associates, employees, consultant or the practice of lobbying.
- Make no appeal to government that is based on racism, sexism, homophobia, religious intolerance or any form of discrimination.
- Not make misleading, exaggerated or extravagant claims about the nature or extent of our ability to realize outcomes.
- Not conduct work that promotes the interests of any another country to the detriment of Canada.
